The ARTEMIS project is about making primary schools a safer and more supportive place for students. We want to tackle a serious issue called peer-on-peer sexual harassment, which means students behaving inappropriately toward each other. The project comes from the realisation that this problem is getting worse in primary schools across Europe and is affecting learning and the atmosphere in school.
We want to give primary school teachers the training and tools they need to stop this. A shocking study found that 37% of girls surveyed in the EU had experienced some form of harassment in primary school. ARTEMIS aims to create a positive change by helping teachers understand the causes of this problem, teaching them how to intervene appropriately and creating safe and inclusive learning environments.

The transnational meeting brought together all partners to align project goals, share national perspectives, and coordinate upcoming phases. These moments strengthened the partnership’s vision and ensured that every country’s voice was represented.

The guide offers primary school educators practical tools and strategies to recognise, prevent, and respond to peer-on-peer sexual harassment. Developed collaboratively and validated by educational experts, it stands as a cornerstone of ARTEMIS’s mission.
November 2025
Two 3D animated short films were produced to illustrate real-life scenarios of verbal and physical harassment among children. They include sign language interpretation to ensure accessibility for all learners. These videos serve as conversation starters for teachers and students alike.
October - December 2025
Each partner hosted national events to showcase the project’s outcomes—introducing the guide, screening the films, and engaging educators, policymakers, and communities in dialogue about inclusion and gender equality in schools.
